Bachelor of Engineering (B. Eng.) Technische Physic - Engineering Physics

Course Structure:

Semester  1 and 2 Modules(in Coburg, teaching language: German)

During the first year, students will be provided with a fundamental knowledge in natural sciences like physics (optics, thermodynamics) and chemistry, mathematics and applied computer science. These topics are combined with classes in engine ringlike computer aided design, measurement and control technology as well as applied electronics. Supervised laboratory courses complete the lectures.

 

Semester 3 and 4 Modules (abroad, teaching language: English)

The second year of the program takes place at one of our partner universities where classes are taught in English. Students will focus on Analog Circuits, Physics, Mathematics, Software Design, Signals and Systems there.

 

Semester 5 - 7 Modules (in Coburg, teaching language: English or German)

Practical Internship of at least 20 weeks in industry or in a research institute according to the choice of the student, also possible abroad

Bachelor seminar and bachelor thesis (in English or German, also possible at OTH

 Perspective & job prospects

Engineering physicists can be found everywhere, where physical phenomena can be implemented noninnovative techniques. Because of the broad scientific education, Engineering Physics allows the graduates to work on technological innovations in the areas of industrial research and development. Areas might include autonomous driving, biophysics, renewable energy and medical physics. Moreover, our graduates work in environmental measuring technologies and aerospace. Our bachelor graduates can work in internationally operating companies in Germany or abroad. Students may continue their studies with am aster degree in a variety of scientific and technical areas.
