Programme content
Our students conduct their study and research in modern laboratories in the field of fluorescence-based flow cytometry (FACS), the PCR application and the antibody-based verification procedures (ELISA). The Applied Biology degree (BSc) focuses on modern subjects and techniques of biomedicine, such as genetic engineering, molecular biology, biochemistry, immunology, microbiology and clinical research. The practical training is an important component of the study programme. Students work with modern equipment similar to that used in everyday biomedical research. The equipment includes fluorescence microscopes, a PCR device, FACS machine and patch clamp workstations. Small group sizes and a harmonious student-teacher relationship form the basis for a pleasant learning and working atmosphere. For us, an international outlook is important. We nurture cooperative ventures with partner universities all over the world, where you can complete one or more semesters abroad.
